Understand your search performance
Read the main Analytics sections, metrics, filters, and search opportunities.
Analytics starts with a clear overview and lets you open the evidence behind each result. Use it to answer both “What happened?” and “What should I look at next?”
The four main sections
Content impact
This section follows articles created or optimized and published with Surpasso. It shows their progress from published content to confirmed indexing, search impressions, and clicks.
Use it to see whether managed content is beginning to appear in Google Search. It is intentionally separate from the performance of your entire website.
Search performance
This section covers the whole connected website. The four main metrics are:
- Clicks: Visits from Google Search results.
- Impressions: Times a result from your site appeared in Google Search.
- CTR: The share of impressions that became clicks.
- Average position: The average position of your results. A lower number is closer to the top.
Current results are compared with the previous period of the same length when a comparison is available.
Search opportunities
Surpasso groups useful signals into five types:
- Ranking: A page already has visibility and may have room to move higher.
- Click efficiency: A visible result may be receiving fewer clicks than comparable queries on your own site.
- Decline: Clicks, visibility, ranking, or indexing signals may need attention.
- Growth: A page is beginning to receive clicks, appear for more visible queries, or continue growing.
- Search overlap: More than one page is appearing for the same query and may need closer review.
Opportunities are ranked by likely impact. Open a page to review its related queries and evidence before deciding what to change. An opportunity is a prompt to investigate, not proof that a page must be rewritten.
Search data
Open Queries, Pages, Countries, or Devices to inspect the rows behind the summary. You can search, sort, and open page details without leaving Analytics.
Choose a date and audience
Use the 7, 28, or 90-day presets, or choose a custom range of up to 16 months. You can also filter by country and device.
The filters affect search-performance data. They do not change how many articles have been published or the latest indexing status of a tracked page. A new custom range or filter may need to be prepared the first time you use it.
Data dates and updates
The footer shows the date through which Google data is available and when the report was synced. Google Search data is not real time and may arrive with a delay.
Surpasso updates the main reports automatically. Use Refresh now when you want to request a newer report; you do not need to refresh before every visit. If an update is in progress, saved results can remain visible while the newer data is prepared.
